A Tuition-Free Bible College!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is New Wine Bible Institute?
We are a distance training center for Christians who desire a biblical education but do not have the financial resources to attend a traditional residential college program.

2. What is the Goal of New Wine Bible Institute?
We are dedicated to the purpose of training and educating persons for ministry or other Christian service.  Jesus Christ is the center of all our objectives.

3. What kind of studies does New Wine Bible Institute offer?
We offer distance education studies with audio and video training.  Some textbooks must be purchased at a very reasonable price at your choice of vendor; others are furnished online free of charge.

4. How difficult are the courses and how much time is involved?
The studies are time-intensive and cannot be completed quickly. Our Bachelors Degree programs require in excess of 1920 clock hours to earn the degree. We are not a diploma mill, nor do we offer shortcuts to a degree.  The idea is not to just "get it over with" but to allow the text to speak to you and equip you for ministry.  The courses are challenging, but not difficult.  As with most things in life, what you get from them is directly related to how much work you put into them.

5. What is included in the course materials?
Basically everything that you need.  Some courses require the purchase of a textbook at a nominal cost, which you will purchase on your own.  All of the textbooks in the Christian Education curriculum are free.

You will need to have computer and internet access, and a high speed connection would be a great help.

6. How does the process work?
We will e-mail your acknowledgment of your enrollment, and give you instructions on accessing your student web page, which includes the course syllabus. We advise you to only work on one course at a time.  Once you have earned the required credits for a degree program, we will send you a quality degree certificate suitable for framing acknowledging your accomplishment. We will keep track of your progress in our office and will keep a transcript of your work on file.

7. Is New Wine Bible Institute an accredited college?
No. Frankly, we cannot afford the costs involved to seek legitimate, US DOE recognized accreditation. However, our degrees are quite legal, and we look forward to developing a reputation for excellence in the evangelical and "third wave" academic community.  If the Lord blesses us in the future with the financial means to do so, we would like to seek accreditation from a recognized agency at that time.

8. What is the doctrinal position of NWBI?
We are evangelical with a continuationist view of the Gifts of the Spirit (i.e., "Empowered Evangelicals"). We take the best and brightest doctrines of the denominations (i.e.; those that line up with scripture), and practice grace and peace regarding controversial doctrines.  Our student body is interdenominational.

9. Can I transfer in credits for advanced standing?
No. We do not offer any advanced standing.

10. Do you offer traditional residence classes?
No, not at this time. Our courses are more easily done in a distance education environment.  We may offer on site classes in the future.

11. How long does it take to complete a course?
That is entirely up to the student. Many students complete a course every month or less.  Motivated students may do it more quickly.  Conversely, those who work full time in their jobs and are active in their church may find it takes a bit longer.  You may proceed at your own pace.

12. How do I enroll in a Degree Program?
Please see the Registration tab for details.
