Masters Degree Programs

Admission to our Masters Degree Program requires a Bachelors Degree from NWBI or from a regionally accredited university. The accrediting agency must be one that is recognized by the US Department of Education.

We offer a Masters Degree program in Theology.  All courses are multi-media. Lectures are available in audio and video formats.

Master of Theology (ThM) (33 credits including Thesis)

The primary lecturer for this program is Dr. Wayne Grudem.  Dr. Grudem is very well-respected in Evangelical circles, and has a way of making theological and doctrinal issues applicable to everyday life.  His lectures are available for free on the internet.  His work, Systematic Theology, is regarded as one of the premiere works in this area. The text may be purchased in book or software form for under $40.00 from many sources.

The balance of the curriculum for the Master of Theology program has been developed by Third Millennium Ministries. They have made the lectures and printed materials available to us at no charge. They furnish seminary level instruction for free to agencies all over the world. Thank you, Third Millennium, for your generosity in developing this exceptional program and making it available to our students.

Thesis

The degree also requires a thesis describing a controversial teaching in the Body of Christ, giving the reasoning behind each position, then choosing a position and defending it. Here are some samples of potential topics: Eternal Security of the Believer, the Prosperity Message, the Baptism of the Spirit, Dispensationalism, Kingdom Theology, Election vs Predestination, the Origin of Demons, Natural Selection vs Intelligent Design, Cessationism vs Continuationism, etc.
You may choose any topic that you feel strongly about that is a cause for discussion or misunderstanding in the Body of Christ. Answer the following questions: What is the biblical basis for each position? Which position do you believe is correct? Why? Which position that you take isn't important; but you should be able to determine the biblical basis and weaknesses of each position, and be better able to define why you believe what you believe. The paper may be on a topic of your choosing, but must be approved in advance by the NWBI faculty.
